IBM Integrates Consulting Advantage Platform with Microsoft Copilot
IBM has integrated its Consulting Advantage platform with Microsoft 365 Copilot, enabling consultants to access IBM’s AI tools directly within Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook. The integration, already in use across IBM’s consulting teams, has saved more than 250,000 hours annually—an estimated $35 million in value—according to a press release.
Through Copilot, IBM consultants can interact with several AI agents, including the Assets Agent, Institute for Business Value Agent, Ask Offerings Agent, Partnerships Agent, and Ask WOW Stories Agent. These agents provide access to IBM’s proprietary research, client stories, and internal tools to support project delivery and accelerate workflows.
IBM plans to expand the system with a custom agent that uses ContextForge and its Consulting Advantage Model Context Protocol servers to automatically match tasks with the appropriate assistant or document collection. The integration follows IBM’s ongoing collaboration with Microsoft, combining IBM Consulting’s industry expertise with Microsoft’s AI and cloud technologies to enhance digital transformation initiatives.
