Hyderabad Startup to Launch India's First AI Lab in Space

TakeMe2Space, a Hyderabad-based startup, plans to democratize space access by launching India's first AI-driven satellite lab, enabling students and businesses to interact with satellites in real-time.

TakeMe2Space, a space-tech startup based in Hyderabad, has announced plans to launch India's first AI-driven laboratory in space. The initiative aims to make space sciences more accessible by allowing students, researchers, and businesses to interact with satellites in real-time. This project marks a significant shift from traditional satellite access, which has been largely restricted to government and elite research institutions.

Founded by Ronak Kumar Samantray, TakeMe2Space intends to launch an AI-powered satellite lab that can be remotely operated. Schools and universities can subscribe to this service, enabling students to log in, upload code, and conduct experiments with a real satellite. This approach is designed to bridge the gap in space education, offering hands-on experience similar to computer or robotics labs.

The startup has already conducted a technology demonstration mission with ISRO and plans to launch two fully operational satellites this year. The company emphasizes security, ensuring that its systems preemptively stop any harmful actions. Additionally, the satellites are designed without propulsion systems to prevent unauthorized redirection.

TakeMe2Space's model also includes AI capabilities that allow satellites to process data in orbit, reducing the need for data transmission to Earth. This innovation not only enhances data processing efficiency but also aims to build the future of computing in orbit, potentially reducing Earth's power consumption by shifting heavy computational tasks to space.
