Avathon and IIT Roorkee Plan Physical AI Lab
Avathon and the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee plan to establish the Avathon Physical AI Lab in the university's Department of Computer Science and Engineering, the organizations announced in a press release on September 7. The lab will research autonomous systems for industrial operations.
Research will cover supply planning, large scale logistics, optimization, machine learning, knowledge representation, multiple agent systems, and systems that continuously learn. The lab will work with Avathon's AI Center of Excellence in Bangalore to connect academic research with deployments in mining, energy, manufacturing, logistics, and aerospace.
The initiative will support sponsored doctoral fellowships, joint research, student internships, workshops, and technical events. IIT Roorkee professor Sugata Gangopadhyay will serve as principal investigator.
