At MWC Barcelona 2026, Huawei’s new-generation OceanStor Dorado Converged All-Flash Storage received technical validation from Enterprise Strategy Group, part of Omdia, according to a press release. The report assessed the system’s performance, resilience, intelligent management, and total cost of ownership, confirming its competitiveness in enterprise storage.

The validation showed that the OceanStor Dorado system achieved over 876,000 IOPS with an average response time of 32 microseconds in simulated high-concurrency database environments. It uses a native parallel architecture supporting block, file, and object storage, and features an active-active design enabling transparent switchover between data centers.

Huawei’s SmartMatrix architecture allows tolerance for up to seven controller failures out of eight without service interruption, while its FlashEver technology ensures generation-to-generation convergence without downtime. The system also integrates ransomware detection for SAN and NAS environments and uses the iMaster DME DataMaster agent for automatic system assessment and fault localization.

Over a five-year period, the OceanStor Dorado solution can reduce total ownership costs by up to 64% compared to traditional hybrid storage. Yuan Yuan, President of Huawei’s Data Storage Product Line, said the validation demonstrates the company’s continued innovation in enterprise storage.

The announcement was made during MWC Barcelona 2026, where Huawei also presented its latest computing and AI infrastructure solutions.
