Hoymiles Introduces HiBattery 4020 Series with AI Energy Management for Homes

June 03, 2026
Hoymiles has launched its HiBattery 4020 series, a new generation of home energy storage systems featuring AI-based energy management and enhanced safety mechanisms.

Hoymiles announced in a press release the launch of its HiBattery 4020 series, the third generation of its plug-in home energy storage systems. The lineup includes the HiBattery 4020 X, a hybrid model that connects directly to photovoltaic modules, and the HiBattery 4020 AC, which integrates with existing home solar setups to add energy storage capability.

Both models feature higher capacity batteries and use an in-house developed artificial intelligence algorithm for smarter energy management. Each unit offers a base capacity of 4 kWh, expandable up to 16 kWh with additional modular units. They include a built-in 2500 W inverter with a DC to AC efficiency of 96.5 percent. The HiBattery 4020 X model supports up to 4 kW of photovoltaic input through four MPPT channels for improved solar energy capture.

The system incorporates Hoymiles' AI Energy Management System (AI-EMS), which recalculates energy strategies every three hours based on electricity prices, weather forecasts, and household consumption patterns. The batteries use automotive-grade LiFePO4 cells and include a 48-layer battery management system with hardware safety protections and intelligent cell balancing.

The HiBattery 4020 series can reduce grid dependency by maximizing self-consumption of solar energy and can supply continuous power to essential appliances during outages or in off-grid locations.
