Hon Hai Research Institute has announced the launch of FoxBrain, the first Traditional Chinese Large Language Model (LLM) with advanced reasoning capabilities, as stated in a press release. Developed by the AI Research Center, FoxBrain is designed for applications within Hon Hai Technology Group's internal systems, including data analysis, decision support, and code generation.

FoxBrain is based on the Meta Llama 3.1 architecture and features 70 billion parameters. It demonstrates strong performance in mathematical and logical reasoning tests, outperforming other models like Llama-3-Taiwan-70B. The model was trained using 120 NVIDIA H100 GPUs over four weeks, showcasing an efficient and cost-effective training process.

The institute plans to open-source FoxBrain in the future, aiming to expand its applications in manufacturing, supply chain management, and intelligent decision-making. The model's development highlights Taiwan's competitive edge in AI technology, achieving near world-class standards despite limited computational resources.
