HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering signed a definitive agreement with Siemens Digital Industries Software to build a marine platform and a 3D data platform for shipyard operations.

HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering signed a definitive agreement with Siemens Digital Industries Software to implement a marine software platform, the company announced in a press release. Siemens Digital Industries Software is part of Siemens AG.

The companies plan to establish a 3D single data platform for shipbuilding work. HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering said the system will connect design, production, logistics, inspection and sea trials.

The project is part of HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering's plan to build an AI powered smart shipyard. The company said the goal is an autonomous manufacturing system that digitally links shipyard processes.
