Hadrian Secures $260 Million to Expand AI-Driven Defense Manufacturing
Hadrian, a California-based defense technology startup, has announced a $260 million Series C funding round. The investment, led by Founders Fund and Lux Capital, will support the expansion of Hadrian's AI-driven manufacturing capabilities.
The funds will be used to construct a new 270,000-square-foot factory in Mesa, Arizona, and to expand the existing facility in Torrance, California. This expansion is part of Hadrian's strategy to modernize U.S. manufacturing by leveraging AI and automation, particularly in the defense sector.
Hadrian's approach involves using robotics and AI to enhance productivity on the factory floor, aiming to make workers more efficient rather than replacing them. The company claims its system can train new employees, even those without prior factory experience, to operate at significantly higher productivity levels.
The new Arizona facility is expected to create 350 jobs and will be operational by early 2026. Hadrian is also planning additional facilities to meet growing demand from the Department of Defense, with several more sites in the pipeline over the next year.
