Guinea-Bissau and Antares Vision Group Enhance Pharmaceutical Traceability
Antares Vision Group and Guinea-Bissau have expanded their collaboration to advance pharmaceutical traceability and digital health, announced in a press release. On September 19, 2025, Guinea-Bissau's Minister of Public Health, Dr. Augusto Gomes, signed into force a national Track & Trace mandate, establishing a comprehensive pharmaceutical traceability framework in West Africa.
Building on a previous agreement from February 2025, the collaboration now includes establishing local pharmaceutical manufacturing capacities supported by Serialisation-as-a-Service solutions. Additionally, traceability requirements are being extended into the medical devices sector, reinforcing Guinea-Bissau's leadership in digital health.
The initiative is centered around the National Drug Catalogue, a government platform managed by ARFAME, which serves as the authoritative repository for all medicine-related data in the country. This platform ensures real-time regulatory oversight and strengthens patient safety by centralizing product approvals and supply chain transparency.
A significant upcoming milestone is the launch of the AVGroupHub in early October 2025, which will facilitate registration for all pharmaceutical stakeholders in alignment with the new regulations set to take effect in March 2026. This mandate is already generating revenues for Antares Vision Group in 2025, highlighting its immediate impact and long-term sustainability.
