Google Introduces Veo 2 Video Generation in Gemini

Google has launched its Veo 2 video-generating AI model for Gemini Advanced users, allowing them to create high-resolution videos from text prompts.

Google has introduced its Veo 2 video-generating AI model to users of the Gemini Advanced plan, as announced on their website. This feature allows subscribers to create eight-second video clips at 720p resolution using text-based prompts. The videos can be shared directly to platforms like TikTok and YouTube or downloaded as MP4 files, marked with Google's SynthID watermark.

The Veo 2 model is also integrated with Whisk, an experimental feature in Google Labs, which enables users to animate images into videos. This integration is available to Google One AI Premium subscribers, providing a new way to bring static images to life.

While the Veo 2 model offers exciting possibilities for content creation, there are limitations on the number of videos users can generate each month. Currently, the feature is not supported for Google Workspace business and education plans. Despite these restrictions, the introduction of Veo 2 marks a significant step in Google's efforts to compete with other video generation platforms in the market.
