Google has announced Sec-Gemini v1, a new experimental AI model aimed at advancing cybersecurity capabilities, according to a post on their security blog. This model combines the advanced features of Google's Gemini AI with real-time cybersecurity knowledge and tools, offering superior performance in key cybersecurity workflows such as incident root cause analysis and threat analysis.
Sec-Gemini v1 has demonstrated significant improvements over other models in cybersecurity benchmarks. It outperformed competitors by more than 11% on the CTI-MCQ threat intelligence benchmark and by 10.5% on the CTI-Root Cause Mapping benchmark. These benchmarks evaluate the model's ability to understand vulnerability descriptions and accurately classify them.
Gemini is integrated with Google's major data sources, including Google Threat Intelligence and OSV, enhancing its reasoning capabilities. Google is offering Sec-Gemini v1 free of charge to select organizations and experts for research purposes, aiming to foster collaboration within the cybersecurity community and improve defense technologies.
