Google Introduces Opal for Building AI Mini-Apps
Google has launched Opal, an experimental tool that enables users to build AI mini-apps using natural language, now available in public beta. Opal allows users to create and share dynamic, multi-step applications by chaining together prompts, models, and tools without the need for coding. This tool is designed to simplify the process of prototyping AI ideas and workflows, making it accessible to a broader audience.
Opal offers a visual editor that translates user instructions into workflows, providing fine-grained control over app development. Users can edit and remix their AI mini-apps using conversational commands or a visual interface. Once an app is ready, it can be shared with others, allowing them to use it with their own Google accounts.
To assist users in getting started, Opal includes a demo gallery with starter templates that can be customized to meet specific needs. This initiative is part of Google's effort to make AI development more accessible to non-technical users, joining other companies in offering tools that encourage app creation without coding.
