December 18, 2025
Google has released Gemini 3 Flash, a faster and more efficient AI model now serving as the default in the Gemini app and AI Mode in Search. The model combines advanced reasoning and multimodal capabilities with lower latency and cost.

Google has released Gemini 3 Flash, a new AI model built for speed and efficiency, announced in a press release. The model expands the Gemini 3 family and is now the default option in the Gemini app and AI Mode in Search for users worldwide.

Gemini 3 Flash combines the reasoning capabilities of the Gemini 3 Pro model with faster response times and lower costs. It delivers strong performance on benchmarks such as GPQA Diamond and Humanity’s Last Exam, achieving results comparable to larger frontier models. The model is priced at $0.50 per 1 million input tokens and $3 per 1 million output tokens.

According to Google, Gemini 3 Flash can process multimodal inputs including text, images, audio, and video, enabling features like analyzing short videos for improvement tips or generating app prototypes directly from voice prompts. It also supports real-time visual reasoning tasks, such as interpreting drawings or generating contextual image overlays.

The model is available to developers through the Gemini API, Google AI Studio, and the company’s new coding platform, Antigravity. Enterprises can access it via Vertex AI and Gemini Enterprise. Companies including JetBrains, Bridgewater Associates, and Figma are already using Gemini 3 Flash for tasks requiring fast inference and reasoning.

The release follows the November debut of Gemini 3 and extends Google’s rollout of advanced models across products and developer tools, continuing its collaboration with research teams like DeepMind.
