GitLaw has raised $3 million in pre-seed funding led by Jackson Square Ventures to launch its AI agent that automates the drafting, review, and negotiation of legal contracts for startups and small businesses.

GitLaw has raised $3 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Jackson Square Ventures, announced in a press release. The funding supports the launch of GitLaw's AI agent, which helps startups and small businesses draft, review, and negotiate legal contracts in minutes.

The San Francisco–based company’s platform includes a library of more than 1,000 lawyer-approved templates contributed by verified legal experts across the US and UK. The system automates up to 90% of routine legal work, allowing users to create or review agreements such as NDAs, SaaS contracts, and investor terms with minimal legal oversight.

GitLaw’s AI agent coordinates multiple models and workflows to replicate the structured process of human lawyers, aiming to maintain accuracy while reducing time and cost. The platform is designed for businesses rather than law firms, offering instant access to legal document automation tools through its free plan available at git.law.

Other investors in the round include Flex Capital, Background Capital, and several angel investors. GitLaw operates across the US and UK and was founded by entrepreneur Nick Holzherr in 2025.
