Floodbase Launches Quote API to Automate Parametric Flood Insurance

March 09, 2026
Floodbase has introduced its Floodbase Quote API, allowing insurers and managing general agents to instantly generate parametric flood insurance quotes and streamline underwriting across the U.S. market.

Floodbase has unveiled its Floodbase Quote API, a new capability designed to automate and scale parametric flood insurance quoting, announced in a press release. The platform allows insurers and managing general agents (MGAs) to reduce manual quoting cycles from weeks to instant workflows, expanding access to flood coverage in underserved U.S. markets.

The API enables carriers to instantly generate standardized quotes for parametric flood covers, supporting self-serve broker distribution. Liberty Mutual has already introduced an instant quoting application for brokers and MGAs powered by the Floodbase API. This automation supports scalable distribution across small- and mid-sized commercial markets.

The Floodbase Quote API also facilitates the creation of large, geographically distributed portfolio solutions, allowing insurers to design products covering thousands of U.S. locations simultaneously. The system provides localized daily flood histories spanning nearly five decades, enabling underwriters to apply predefined rules or pricing models to produce quotes automatically or with minimal manual input.

Built on Floodbase’s flood modeling infrastructure, the API delivers location-specific flood intelligence for underwriting and pricing at scale.
