The EN175/8.0 onshore wind turbine uses AI based controls to adjust its operation and increase energy yield.

Envision Energy launched its Model T EN175/8.0 onshore wind turbine at WindEnergy Hamburg, the company said in a press release. The company says the 8 MW turbine can increase energy yield by 2% to 12% compared with existing models, depending on site conditions.

The turbine has a 175 meter rotor and uses Galileo autonomous optimization controls, supported by Envision's Tianji Weather Foundation Model and Dubhe Energy Foundation Model. Galileo processes operating data as it is generated and adjusts turbine control strategies.

The EN175/8.0 supports cold climates, mountainous terrain, strong winds and environments prone to icing. Its grid forming controls provide voltage and frequency support, fault ride through response and operation on weak grids. Envision's Model T platform has received orders for more than 4,000 turbines, with about 1,500 installed.
