A midsize Community Bank in South Dakota has partnered with SBS CyberSecurity through its virtual chief AI officer (vCAIO) service, announced in a press release. The initiative aims to help the bank adopt artificial intelligence strategically, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen governance.

Through the vCAIO engagement, SBS is guiding the bank through a 10-step process that begins with forming an internal AI team and mapping existing AI usage. The process continues with developing a strategic roadmap, establishing AI use guidelines, conducting staff training, and selecting tools to enable secure and sustainable AI integration.

SBS CEO Chad Knutson said the partnership reflects a proactive approach to managing AI adoption within financial institutions, where employees and vendors are already using AI-driven tools. The company expects more banks to adopt similar governance frameworks as AI becomes increasingly embedded in financial operations.
