Cognition Raises More Than $2 Billion at $48 Billion Valuation

Cognition raised more than $2 billion at a $48 billion valuation, concluding funding talks reported in August, according to SiliconANGLE.

Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) and Accel led the Series E round. Founders Fund, General Catalyst and Avenir also participated. The valuation is up from $26 billion in May, while Cognition's annualized run rate revenue increased from $492 million to nearly $900 million.

Cognition develops Devin, an AI agent that plans software tasks, writes and tests code, debugs problems and deploys changes. The company also owns the Windsurf coding editor, which it acquired in July 2025.
