BlackRock Launches $100 Million Future Builders Initiative for Skilled Trades
BlackRock has launched a $100 million philanthropic program to support U.S. workers entering skilled trades, announced in a press release. The initiative, called Future Builders, aims to train and assist 50,000 Americans over five years to meet growing labor demands in infrastructure-related fields.
Funded by The BlackRock Foundation, the program will provide grants to nonprofit and workforce development partners across multiple states. It will focus on pre-apprenticeship access, training completion, and licensure, while integrating financial education and digital savings tools to promote long-term financial stability.
Future Builders will collaborate with federal, state, and local governments, labor organizations, and private companies to strengthen skilled trades programs. The first phase of the initiative will deploy the $100 million in grant capital, with further phases planned over the next year.
The announcement coincided with BlackRock’s U.S. Infrastructure Summit in Washington, D.C., which brought together policymakers, corporate executives, and labor leaders to discuss accelerating infrastructure delivery and workforce readiness.
