Bloomberg to Acquire Canoe Intelligence for Private Markets Data

Bloomberg has agreed to acquire Canoe Intelligence, an AI powered data management platform that automates private markets data collection and delivery.

Bloomberg has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Canoe Intelligence, an AI powered data management platform for private markets, the company announced in a press release.

Canoe automates private markets data collection and delivery for institutional investors. The company processes more than 1.5 million documents per month across more than 44,000 funds and serves over 500 institutional clients representing more than $11 trillion in assets under service.

Bloomberg plans to integrate Canoe with its public and private markets data, analytics, and enterprise tools. The companies launched a certified integration earlier this year that connects permissioned private fund data to Bloomberg PORT Enterprise for portfolio analysis.

The planned acquisition includes support for total portfolio views, fund screening, benchmarking, cash management, exposure and risk analysis, and fund identifiers such as FIGI. Bloomberg also plans to bring these capabilities into ASKB, its agentic AI conversational interface.
