BetterAge Secures $5.5M in NIH Grants for Aging Platform
BetterAge has secured a total of $5.5 million in grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), as announced in a recent press release. This funding includes a new $3 million Fast-Track Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant from the National Institute on Aging (NIA), following a previous $2.5 million award.
The initial NIH grant supported the development of BetterAge's web-based platform, which helps older adults assess their well-being and receive personalized recommendations for healthier aging. The new funding will be used to expand the platform and develop a companion app aimed at caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. This app will provide ongoing guidance to help users maintain their well-being while supporting others.
BetterAge is collaborating with over 40 community-based organizations and has launched a national partnership with USAging to extend its reach and impact. The company was also recognized with the Fundación MAPFRE's 2024 USA Social Innovation Award for its contributions to the Silver Economy.
