Beep and Atlanta Beltline Launch ATL Spoke Autonomous Transit Service
Beep and Atlanta Beltline have launched ATL Spoke, the city's first autonomous public transit service, now open to the public in southwest Atlanta. The pilot was announced in a press release and marks a collaboration with MARTA and the Georgia Transportation Efficiency Authority to test autonomous mobility for neighborhood connections.
The 12-month pilot is funded by the Georgia Transportation Efficiency Authority and uses four Karsan Autonomous e-JEST vehicles. The vehicles are production models meeting federal motor vehicle safety and accessibility standards. Each is automated by ADASTEC using its SAE Level 4 driving platform, flowride.ai, which enables fully automated operation in mixed traffic and under varied weather conditions.
The service is managed through Beep’s AutonomOS platform, which provides fleet orchestration, supervision, and workflow management from a central operations control center. This integration allows coordinated operation of multiple autonomous vehicles within a single network.
Karsan supplied the Autonomous e-JEST vehicles, which are based on a widely deployed electric minibus platform already operating across Europe, North America, and Japan. The pilot aims to demonstrate scalable, safe, and efficient autonomous transit in an urban environment while complementing existing MARTA services.
