Atlassian Acquires The Browser Company for $610 Million
Atlassian has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire The Browser Company for $610 million in cash, announced in a press release. The acquisition aims to create an AI-powered browser optimized for knowledge work, leveraging The Browser Company's expertise in browser development with Atlassian's experience in team collaboration and productivity software.
The Browser Company, known for its Arc and Dia browsers, will continue to operate independently under Atlassian's ownership. CEO Josh Miller emphasized that the acquisition will enable the company to accelerate development and expand Dia's capabilities, including cross-platform support and secure syncing.
The deal is expected to close in the second quarter of Atlassian's fiscal year 2026, pending regulatory approvals. Atlassian plans to fund the acquisition using cash from its balance sheet, which stood at $2.5 billion at the end of the June quarter.
