AMI Launches Shift Left Initiative for Arm Total Design with Synopsys
AMI has announced a new Shift Left initiative for Arm Total Design in collaboration with Arm Holdings Plc and Synopsys, according to a press release. The initiative advances verification of AMI OnSil silicon firmware and Aptio V UEFI firmware from the silicon prototype phase to the RTL validation stage.
The approach integrates AMI firmware validation with the Synopsys ASIC design flow and supports Arm Neoverse Compute Subsystems on Synopsys ZeBu emulators. This enables pre-silicon software bring-up and verification of real workloads, including high-speed I/O, security, and Silicon Lifecycle Management IP.
By moving firmware validation earlier in the design process, chip developers can reduce time to market and minimize risk associated with firmware defects. The collaboration aligns with Arm’s Total Design chiplet strategy, which aims to lower custom silicon design costs and accelerate product delivery.
