Alif Licenses Arm Keil MDK for Edge AI Devices

Alif Semiconductor has licensed Arm Keil MDK for its Ensemble and Balletto device families. The tools support embedded software work for IoT, machine learning, and edge AI applications.

Alif Semiconductor has licensed Arm Keil MDK for its Ensemble and Balletto device families, the company said in a press release.

The agreement gives Alif customers access to the Keil MDK toolchain for embedded software work, debugging, and optimization. The tools support IoT, machine learning, and edge AI applications on Alif devices.

Alif said support is available through the Arm Keil portal. It includes the Alif Semiconductor Device Family Pack, board support, middleware components, RTOS support, graphics libraries, and related CMSIS packs.

The Ensemble and Balletto families include B1, E1C, E1, E3, E4, E5, E6, E7, and E8 series devices. They combine 32 bit microcontrollers and fusion processors based on Arm with AI acceleration from Arm Ethos U55 and Ethos U85 neural processing units.

Alif and Arm are also working on the Synchronous Data Stream Framework for DSP algorithms, machine learning models, and edge AI applications that process sensor, audio, and video data streams. Alif said developers can request a free Arm Keil MDK license for Alif devices through its Keil Studio page.
