Altair Integrates Iridium Satellite Connectivity Into IoT Chipsets
Altair Semiconductor is integrating Iridium NTN Direct into its ALT1350 and ALT1550 cellular IoT chipsets, the companies said in a press release. The integration combines terrestrial cellular service and connectivity through the satellite network of Iridium Communications Inc. on one chipset, removing the need for a separate satellite modem.
The low power ALT1350 supports uses including asset tracking, logistics, smart meters, agriculture, vehicle telematics and industrial monitoring. The ALT1550 extends the satellite capability to 5G eRedCap devices, including smart glasses, AI assistants and other wearables.
Iridium NTN Direct uses Iridium's low Earth orbit satellite constellation and L band spectrum. The service supports NB IoT and direct to device applications through compatible chipsets based on 3GPP standards.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?
Tensordyne
This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
