Amazon Introduces Personalized Shopping Prompts with AI
Amazon has launched a new feature called 'Interests' as part of its ongoing efforts to integrate AI into its shopping tools. This feature aims to provide a more personalized and conversational search experience for users. Customers can enter tailored prompts in the search bar, reflecting their interests, preferences, and budget, which are then converted into queries by leveraging large language models.
The 'Interests' feature is designed to offer more relevant product suggestions and continuously works in the background to notify users of new items, restocks, and deals that match their interests. Currently, this feature is available to a select group of users in the U.S. through the Amazon Shopping app on iOS and Android devices, as well as on the mobile website under the 'Me' tab.
Amazon plans to expand access to more U.S. customers in the coming months. This initiative is part of Amazon's broader strategy to incorporate AI into its app, joining other AI-powered features such as the AI shopping assistant Rufus, AI Shopping Guides, and AI-generated product information.
