Addverb Integrates BLE Safety in Robotics with Infineon Partnership
Addverb has announced a strategic partnership with Infineon Technologies AG to enhance safety in its robotic fleet using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology. In a press release, Addverb detailed the integration of BLE-based communication systems, which aim to address critical safety concerns in warehouse environments.
The upgraded solution has been implemented across Addverb's Zippy 10 robots, enabling safety protocols that surpass standard Wi-Fi infrastructure. A key feature of this deployment is a BLE-powered emergency stop system, designed to deactivate robots in sensitive situations within seconds, thereby preventing potential hazards. Additionally, the system includes a remote power cut-off feature, allowing centralized power management for large robotic fleets without manual intervention.
Sangeet Kumar, Co-founder and CEO of Addverb, emphasized the reliability of BLE technology in overcoming constraints observed with Wi-Fi, particularly in safety scenarios where rapid response is crucial. Shantanu Bhalerao, Vice President of Wireless Product Line at Infineon Technologies, highlighted the collaboration's role in advancing safety and connectivity in industrial robotics, aligning product development with the demands of large-scale robotic applications.
