On April 27, 2026, Pitcher joined forces with Southeast Asian leaders to launch the Nusantara AI Institute in New York City. This initiative aims to enhance AI education in Indonesia by offering a variety of courses. Meanwhile, Samsung SDS has secured the rights to distribute OpenAI's ChatGPT Edu across the Asia-Pacific region, with a focus on educational privacy and tools. A pilot program is set to begin at the National Korea Broadcasting and Communications University.
Clarivate has introduced Nexus Connect, an AI gateway designed to provide students and researchers with access to academic resources through AI chat agents like ChatGPT. The initial rollout will include five universities in North America and the Asia-Pacific region. In addition, Google has launched NotebookLM, a new feature in Google Classroom that allows higher education students to create personal class notebooks for enhanced learning experiences.
