Google DeepMind has announced a partnership with South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT to advance national AI research, establish an AI Campus in Seoul, and collaborate with leading universities on projects in life sciences, energy, and climate.

Google DeepMind announced in a press release a new partnership with the Republic of Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT to support the country's AI strategy and expand scientific collaboration. The initiative aligns with DeepMind's National Partnerships for AI program and aims to accelerate research in areas such as life sciences, energy, weather, and climate.

As part of the collaboration, Google will establish an AI Campus in Seoul. The facility will serve as a hub for joint research between Korean academic institutions and DeepMind scientists, offering access to advanced AI models like AlphaEvolve, AlphaGenome, and AlphaFold. Initial research partnerships will involve Seoul National University, the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, and the Ministry’s AI Bio Innovation Hubs.

The partnership also includes cooperation on AI safety through collaboration with the Korean AI Safety Institute. To foster local expertise, DeepMind will explore internship opportunities and other talent development programs for Korean students.
