Workday to Acquire Pipedream to Expand AI Agent Integration Capabilities

November 19, 2025
Workday has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Pipedream, an integration platform with over 3,000 connectors to common business applications. The acquisition will enable Workday’s AI agents to connect and execute tasks across third-party systems and applications.

Enterprise software company Workday, Inc. has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Pipedream, announced in a press release. Pipedream is an integration platform offering more than 3,000 pre-built connectors to widely used business applications such as Asana, Hubspot, Jira, Recurly, and Slack.

The acquisition will enable Workday’s AI agents to initiate workflows, pull data, and execute tasks across both Workday and third-party systems. This integration aims to allow customers to bring information and workflows from various applications directly into Workday and take actions in external apps used by their teams.

Workday stated that its AI agents already operate within established security and compliance frameworks for managing people and financial data. With Pipedream, this functionality will extend to thousands of external applications, providing broader connectivity for task automation.

The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of Workday’s fiscal year 2026, ending January 31, 2026, pending the satisfaction of standard closing conditions.
