Waystar Unveils Generative AI and Automation to Cut Healthcare Administrative Waste
Waystar has launched new generative AI and advanced automation capabilities across its software platform to tackle the $440 billion in administrative waste in the U.S. healthcare system, announced in a press release. The company introduced these innovations at its Innovation Showcase event, highlighting the expansion of its AltitudeAI™ suite.
The new capabilities include AltitudeAssist™, a generative AI feature in Claim Manager that automates denial prevention by transforming user prompts into actionable solutions. This innovation aims to reduce the time taken for claim processes from three days to just three minutes. Additionally, Waystar has introduced a fully automated insurance identification system that continuously scans for coverage, significantly increasing identification rates and reducing manual effort.
Waystar also expanded its Digital First Billing access, allowing providers of any size to offer patients convenient billing options. This move aligns with the growing trend of patients preferring digital payment methods, with up to 80% engaging in self-service payment options. The platform's dynamic print suppression feature has led to a 35% reduction in print statements, driving cost savings for providers.
