Volt Partners with Dell and NorthC to Launch Dutch AI Cloud
Dutch company Volt has partnered with Dell Technologies and NorthC Datacenters to launch the Dutch AI Cloud, announced in a press release. The platform will become operational in October 2026 and offer GPU computing power to organizations in the Netherlands and across Europe.
The platform is fully developed and operated in the Netherlands, with Dell supplying the underlying AI infrastructure and NorthC hosting the initial AI Factory in Amsterdam. Volt’s AI Cloud will allow companies and government institutions to purchase GPU capacity by the hour or on a reserved basis, with options for Volt-managed or custom AI infrastructure.
Volt’s Amsterdam facility marks the first phase of a planned expansion toward an “AI Gigafactory” in Rotterdam that will accommodate around 250,000 GPUs. According to Volt, this project aims to establish one of Europe’s largest independent AI compute platforms. The initial development is financed by the De Groot Family Office, while discussions are ongoing with investors for additional funding.
The company positions the Dutch AI Cloud as an option for organizations handling critical workloads in finance, healthcare, biotech, industry, and government. By relying on infrastructure located and operated within the Netherlands, Volt says the service ensures compliance with European data and operational requirements.
