Turnitin Introduces AI Bypasser Detection to Combat Academic Misuse
Turnitin has announced the expansion of its AI writing detection capabilities to include a new feature aimed at detecting AI bypassers. These tools, often referred to as 'humanizers,' allow students to modify AI-generated text to appear human-written, posing a significant threat to academic integrity.
The new bypasser detection capability is integrated with Turnitin's existing AI writing detection tools, enabling educators to identify both AI-generated content and content altered by bypassers. This integration does not require additional tools, ensuring data security and ease of use for educators.
Turnitin's latest feature is part of its ongoing efforts to maintain academic integrity in the face of evolving AI technologies. The AI bypasser detection is available within the Turnitin Originality add-on and the AI capabilities add-on for iThenticate 2.0 customers, further enhancing the company's suite of educational tools.
