Tacta Systems Opens Robotics Production Facility in Singapore

Tacta Systems has opened an office and production facility in Singapore that will initially make its Tacta Glove for training robotic hands.

Tacta Systems opened a new office and production facility in Woodlands, Singapore, the company said in a press release. The site will initially produce the Tacta Glove, which captures force, motion and temperature data from workers for the company’s Skill Capture system.

Skill Capture combines data from the glove with video to teach robotic hands new tasks. Tacta plans to deploy its robotics technology with manufacturers in the electronics, AI infrastructure and automotive industries in early 2027.

The company is working with the A*STAR Institute of Microelectronics to increase production of its tactile sensors. Singapore will serve as Tacta’s manufacturing and engineering hub in Asia, with hiring planned across manufacturing, engineering and test engineering.

The facility is supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board and EDBI. Palo Alto based Tacta has raised $75 million from investors.
