Symphony Robotics Appoints Dr. Neil A. Martin as CMO to Advance Glioblastoma Treatment

Symphony Robotics has appointed Dr. Neil A. Martin as Chief Medical Officer to lead the development of its MRI-steerable micro-robotics for glioblastoma treatment.

Symphony Robotics has announced the appointment of Dr. Neil A. Martin as Chief Medical Officer, a move aimed at advancing their innovative MRI-steerable micro-robotics platform for glioblastoma treatment announced in a press release. Dr. Martin, a renowned neurosurgeon, will spearhead the development of this engine-free, nonlinear, flexible micro-robotic system designed to enhance the precision and efficacy of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) treatments.

The company's platform, which has shown promising results in early preclinical studies, offers significant improvements in maneuverability and volumetric coverage compared to existing technologies. This advancement is crucial for maximizing tumor removal while protecting healthy brain tissue. Symphony Robotics aims to extend the capabilities of Laser Interstitial Thermal Therapy (LITT) by enabling precise, nonlinear navigation to previously unreachable tumor margins.

Supported by grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Science Foundation (NSF), Symphony Robotics is also establishing collaborations with leading neurosurgical centers to initiate beta site testing later this year. This will ensure thorough clinical assessment across diverse patient populations and anatomical scenarios.
