Turbine and MSD Collaborate on AI Simulations for Cancer Research

August 04, 2025
Turbine has announced a collaboration with MSD to use AI simulations for studying hard-to-treat cancer populations, aiming to identify novel treatment dependencies.

Turbine has announced a research collaboration with MSD to simulate cancer patient populations that are difficult to treat, announced in a press release. The partnership aims to use Turbine's Simulated Cells™ technology to create virtual tumor models that closely resemble challenging disease subtypes.

The collaboration will focus on uncovering novel dependencies in these resistant tumor populations through millions of simulated experiments. This approach is intended to guide MSD's laboratory efforts in validating new drug targets, biomarkers, and combination therapies. Initially set for one year, the agreement allows MSD the option to extend access to Turbine's virtual lab and proprietary models.

Turbine's AI-driven simulations aim to overcome the limitations of traditional lab models by mimicking the complex biology of cancer in patients, potentially opening new avenues for treatment. This collaboration highlights the ongoing integration of AI in cancer research to accelerate the discovery of effective therapies.
