Swisscom and Sunrise Form Fraud Intelligence Consortium with LexisNexis
LexisNexis announced in a press release that Swisscom and Sunrise, Switzerland’s two largest telecom providers, have formed a fraud risk consortium to share intelligence in real time. The collaboration, known as the LexisNexis Risk Intelligence Consortium, allows the companies to exchange data on fraudulent activities to prevent coordinated attacks on their networks.
The consortium enables members to share digital risk signals, alerting one another when a known fraud pattern appears. In its first three months, the initiative identified over four thousand high-risk data attributes and improved fraud detection rates by 150 percent, achieving nearly full confidence in the generated alerts.
Swisscom’s fraud manager Michael Hohermuth noted that this real time exchange creates a proactive defense capability across the operators. Sunrise’s fraud manager Anna Hayford added that the approach has improved detection of synthetic identities and high-risk devices. LexisNexis Risk Solutions director Jason Lane-Sellers said the consortium marks an important step in embedding scam prevention into Switzerland’s telecom infrastructure.
