SSSTC Expands Immersion-Cooled SSD Line for AI Data Centers
Solid State Storage Technology Corporation (SSSTC), a subsidiary of Kioxia Corporation, announced in a press release the expansion of its enterprise solid state drive lineup designed for immersion cooling. The products were showcased at COMPUTEX 2026 and are aimed at addressing thermal challenges in AI focused data centers.
The new lineup includes the SATA ER3, ER4, and ER5 series, along with the PCIe U.2 PJ1 and EJ5 series. These drives are engineered to operate in dielectric fluids, using liquid convection to dissipate heat more effectively than traditional air cooling systems. The design incorporates corrosion resistant materials and structural protection to ensure durability in immersion environments.
SSSTC also presented industrial and enterprise SSDs optimized for AI and edge applications. The industrial models support temperatures from minus 40 to 85 degrees Celsius and feature vibration and shock resistance for demanding environments. Enterprise eTLC SSDs offer endurance options of 1 and 3 drive writes per day across five years and maintain over 90 percent random IOPS consistency under sustained workloads.
The company said its firmware is optimized for high density computing with low latency operation. Multi level power loss protection and immersion cooling together aim to ensure stable performance in intensive AI deployment settings.
