Skild AI Acquires Zebra Technologies’ Robotics Automation Division

April 16, 2026
Skild AI has purchased Zebra Technologies' robotics automation business, gaining access to fleet management software for large-scale robotic control. The deal enhances Skild’s capabilities in warehouse and logistics automation.

Skild AI has acquired the robotics automation division of Zebra Technologies Corp., reports Bloomberg. The purchase gives Skild access to Zebra's fleet management software, which enables control of large groups of robots simultaneously.

According to Skild CEO Deepak Pathak, the integration will allow Skild’s systems to operate entire warehouses and coordinate multiple types of robots. This approach differs from traditional robotics programming, where machines are designed for single, specific tasks. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Skild AI, founded in 2023, develops AI software that helps robots learn to perform complex actions. Co-founder Abhinav Gupta said the acquisition will improve robots’ dexterity and ability to handle objects. The sale follows Zebra’s decision to scale back its autonomous mobile robot operations, which originated from its 2021 acquisition of Fetch Robotics.

The move continues Skild AI’s rapid expansion following a $1.4 billion funding round earlier this year that valued the company at over $14 billion.
