Andreessen Horowitz Raises $1.1 Billion for AI Infrastructure Fund

Andreessen Horowitz has raised $1.1 billion for its Machine Age Fund, which will invest in AI infrastructure such as chips, memory, networking, storage, data centers and robotics.

Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) has raised $1.1 billion for a new Machine Age Fund focused on AI infrastructure, according to PitchBook.

The fund targets computer infrastructure for AI, including chips, memory, networking and storage. It also covers systems for running AI, including data centers, robotics and home AI appliances.

General partners Martin Casado and Raghu Raghuram will lead the strategy. The fund will invest in early stage and growth stage companies.

The vehicle follows several hardware investments by a16z. Recent deals include Nexthop AI, a network switching equipment startup for AI workloads, and Mind Robotics, an AI robotics startup spun out of Rivian.
