SK hynix Starts Mass Production of 192GB SOCAMM2 Memory for AI Servers
SK hynix has begun mass production of its 192GB SOCAMM2 memory module, announced in a press release. The module is built using the company’s 1cnm process LPDDR5X DRAM and is designed for use with the NVIDIA Vera Rubin platform.
SOCAMM2 adapts low power memory, typically used in mobile devices, for server environments. It serves as a primary memory solution for AI servers. The company stated that the new product provides more than double the bandwidth and over 75 percent improved power efficiency compared to conventional RDIMM modules.
SK hynix said the SOCAMM2 is optimized to handle large language model training and inference tasks, addressing memory bottlenecks that occur in high performance AI systems. The company has stabilized its production system to meet demand from global cloud service providers.
Justin Kim, President and Head of AI Infra at SK hynix, said the company aims to strengthen its position as a trusted supplier of AI memory solutions through continued collaboration with global AI customers.
