Sivers Semiconductors and Tachyon Networks Partner on 60 GHz mmWave Transceiver

Sivers Semiconductors has announced a $1.5 million development partnership with Tachyon Networks to create a 60 GHz mmWave transceiver aimed at expanding fixed wireless access capabilities.

Sivers Semiconductors has entered a $1.5 million development partnership with Tachyon Networks to create a 60 GHz millimeter wave transceiver for the fixed wireless access market, announced in a press release.

The collaboration expands on existing work between the companies and aims to meet growing demand for higher capacity short range connections in dense urban and enterprise deployments. The project will also support faster deployment of both 28 GHz and 60 GHz transceivers through Tachyon's unified platform.

According to Sivers Semiconductors' Wireless Business Managing Director Harish Krishnaswamy, the program extends their partnership to 60 GHz to provide customers a faster and lower risk path for scalable millimeter wave deployment. Tachyon Networks CEO Hal Bledsoe said the partnership provides a clear and scalable plan for both frequency bands.

Sivers Semiconductors develops photonics and wireless solutions for markets including AI datacenters, satellite communications, defense, and telecom. Tachyon Networks designs and manufactures multi gigabit wireless products for fixed wireless access and related connectivity applications.
