Silicon Labs Launches Simplicity SDK for Zephyr at CES 2026
Silicon Labs announced the release of its new Simplicity SDK for Zephyr at CES 2026, in a press release. The SDK is designed to simplify adoption of the open-source Zephyr real-time operating system (RTOS) for next-generation IoT devices.
The Simplicity SDK for Zephyr provides a Silicon Labs–maintained distribution of the Zephyr codebase that has passed internal quality assurance testing. It includes launch-day support for Bluetooth Low Energy across popular Silicon Labs system-on-chips, with combined Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support on select devices.
Developers can migrate existing Zephyr applications to Silicon Labs hardware with minimal firmware changes, allowing for faster deployment and reduced setup time. The SDK also includes a streamlined Getting Started guide to speed up onboarding.
At CES 2026, Silicon Labs also demonstrated Bluetooth Channel Sounding, single-chip wireless motor control using AI and machine learning, and showcased its technology in partner exhibits including AWS, Powercast, and Tuya Smart.
