SandboxAQ CEO Warns of Converging GPS and AI Cyber Threats at Davos
SandboxAQ CEO Jack Hidary warned at the World Economic Forum in Davos that GPS jamming, spoofing, and AI enabled cyberattacks are converging into one operational threat to critical systems, according to a press release. He said these issues are no longer separate but overlapping challenges that require unified resilience strategies.
Hidary explained that GPS interference has become a regular occurrence rather than an isolated problem, with incidents reported in the Middle East and across several sectors. He linked this interference to emerging AI threats, noting that generative AI tools are being exploited by nation state hackers.
SandboxAQ is addressing these risks through two of its technologies. AQNav uses the Earth's magnetic field to provide positioning, navigation, and timing in environments where GPS is unavailable. AQtive Guard combines AI security with cryptographic posture management to protect digital infrastructure.
The World Economic Forum’s 2026 Global Risks Report lists cyber insecurity as a major global risk, projecting that technological threats will intensify over the next decade.
