Replit Integrates HoundDog.ai Privacy Scanner into AI App Generation
Replit has integrated HoundDog.ai’s privacy-focused code scanner into its AI app-generation platform, announced in a press release. The integration embeds privacy checks directly into Replit’s workflow, giving users immediate visibility into how sensitive data moves through their generated applications.
The scanner identifies third-party and AI integrations within generated code and traces sensitive data across logs, files, local storage, SDKs, and AI connectors. Users can then fix privacy leaks using the same AI agent that previously addressed security vulnerabilities. This builds on Replit’s earlier integration with Semgrep for detecting security risks.
According to the announcement, the first phase of the rollout focuses on detecting plaintext exposures of sensitive information such as passwords and personally identifiable data. Future updates will include live data flow mapping and automated documentation for privacy compliance, including Records of Processing Activities and Privacy Impact Assessments.
Replit said the integration makes privacy a core part of its platform alongside security, enabling its 45 million users to identify and address privacy risks from the start of app creation.
