Perplexity Personal Computer Now Available to All Mac Users
Perplexity AI has released its Personal Computer feature for all Mac users, announced in a company blog post. The feature is included in the new Perplexity Mac app, which replaces the company’s previous desktop app.
Personal Computer brings the capabilities of Perplexity Computer to local devices. It enables AI agents to work with local files, native Mac applications, and online tools while operating in a secure sandbox on Perplexity’s servers. The system can orchestrate more than 400 connectors and use personal context to complete tasks.
When paired with the Comet browser, Personal Computer can operate web-based tools without direct connectors. It is designed to run continuously on devices like the Mac mini, allowing users to initiate or approve tasks remotely from an iPhone.
The new Mac app is available as a direct download and supports everyday queries for all users. Access to Personal Computer requires a Pro or Max subscription. The older Perplexity Mac app will be phased out in the coming weeks.
