Oracle Partners with VoltaGrid for 2.3GW of Natural Gas Power to AI Data Centers

October 21, 2025
Oracle has signed an agreement with VoltaGrid to supply 2.3 gigawatts of natural gas-derived power for its AI data centers, using Energy Transfer’s pipeline network and VoltaGrid’s modular platform.

Oracle has partnered with VoltaGrid to secure 2.3 gigawatts of natural gas power for its artificial intelligence data centers, according to Data Center Dynamics. The energy will be supplied through Energy Transfer’s midstream pipeline network and delivered using VoltaGrid’s proprietary modular power platform.

VoltaGrid’s system, developed with INNIO Jenbacher and ABB, uses reciprocating nodes capable of generating up to 20 megawatts each. These can be combined to deliver up to 200 megawatts of power under a minor source air permit. The company says the platform provides grid-grade performance with ultra-fast response and near-zero emissions.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure executive vice president Mahesh Thiagarajan said the collaboration aims to stabilize power demand for AI workloads, which are highly variable and energy-intensive. The arrangement will allow Oracle’s data centers to scale power use predictably and efficiently.

VoltaGrid stated that the deal will expand its manufacturing capacity in Dallas and Houston, creating more than 400 new jobs. The company has recently signed similar energy supply agreements with Vantage Data Centers and other AI infrastructure operators.
