OPTEL Group has acquired Vanguard Robotics to enhance its capabilities in pharmaceutical automation, announced in a press release. This strategic acquisition aims to integrate Vanguard's expertise in collaborative robot (cobot) automation with OPTEL's established track-and-trace and vision systems.

The acquisition positions OPTEL to address labor challenges in the pharmaceutical sector by improving line efficiency and profitability. Vanguard Robotics, founded in 2018, is known for its collaborative robotic systems designed for regulated pharmaceutical environments. These systems help increase efficiency and reduce labor dependency without disrupting existing operations.

OPTEL's CEO, Louis Roy, emphasized that the acquisition is a natural evolution of their collaboration with Vanguard, aiming to deliver greater value to customers. Vanguard's co-owner, Olivier Laboissionnière, highlighted the opportunity to scale their impact globally by joining forces with OPTEL. This move expands OPTEL's automation capabilities, positioning the company as a comprehensive manufacturing partner for the pharmaceutical industry.
