OpenAI Raises $110 Billion with Backing from Amazon, NVIDIA, and SoftBank

OpenAI announced a $110 billion investment round at a $730 billion valuation, with major contributions from Amazon, NVIDIA, and SoftBank. The company also signed new strategic partnerships to expand its AI infrastructure and global reach.

OpenAI has raised $110 billion in new funding at a $730 billion pre-money valuation, announced in a company statement. The round includes $30 billion each from SoftBank Group Corp. and NVIDIA, and $50 billion from Amazon, with additional investors expected to join as the round continues.

The company also announced a multi-year strategic partnership with Amazon to accelerate AI innovation for enterprises, startups, and consumers. OpenAI expanded its collaboration with NVIDIA, securing 3 GW of dedicated inference capacity and 2 GW of training on Vera Rubin systems, complementing existing infrastructure across Microsoft, OCI, and CoreWeave.

OpenAI reported that ChatGPT now has over 900 million weekly active users and more than 50 million paying subscribers. Its Codex service has reached 1.6 million weekly users, tripling since the start of the year. The company said the new capital will strengthen its compute resources and enable faster scaling of AI products globally.

The funding also increases the value of the OpenAI Foundation’s stake to over $180 billion, expanding its ability to support philanthropic initiatives in health and AI resilience.
